A thermal camera or infrared camera is a device that forms visible images for the human eye by detecting medium infrared emissions from objects in the mid-infrared spectrum.
Thermal cameras operate specifically with wavelengths in the thermal infrared zone, which is considered between 3 µm and 14 µm. A thermal or infrared camera allows you to see the radiation of a person, animal or object from what we cannot see of what we call visible light.
All bodies emit a certain amount of black body radiation (in the infrared form) depending on their temperature. Generally, objects with higher temperature emit more infrared radiation than those with lower temperature.
